AMCO has added to its haul of Network Rail STAR Awards with the achievement of a Two Star Award for its works at Chipping Sodbury Tunnel.

The STAR award programme established by Network Rail recognises and rewards sites, work groups or compounds that meet and exceed high levels of Health, Safety and Environmental risk control.

Following an assessment undertaken by Network Rail Safety and Environmental Managers as well as an external safety professional AMCO achieved a two stars with honours award (effectively two and a half stars) for its Chipping Sodbury Tunnel site where it is undertaking works to install a new Rigid Overhead Conductor Rail System as part of the ongoing major upgrade of the Great Western Mainline.

While visiting the site Network Rail’s Regional Director commented “I’m currently here in Chipping Sodbury, which is one of the best sites I have ever been to in my working career.  It’s an AMCO project - the safety standards, the quality standards are magnificent.  And we are ahead of programme and we’re on budget so it’s all great news.”
